Day in the Life / Responsibilities
- Lead software engineering teams of mid-level and junior engineers
- Balance your individual contributions with delegation and mentorship opportunities
- Conduct technical mentorship in a 1 on 1 setting with teammates, reviewing code and delivering feedback to encourage growth
- Create and communicate software designs for our clients, project teams, and the department
- Help curate Viagio’s best practices and software design philosophies with the Architecture Team
- Quickly learn and understand our clients’ domains and businesses to ensure team delivers maximum value
- Design database schemas that accurately reflect the business domain of our clients
- Become a subject matter expert and oversee development of complex software systems and applications
- Take part in estimation processes from user stories to entire projects
- Work closely with both internal and external project stakeholders and bridge communication between all members of the team
- Be heavily involved in discovery and requirement grooming alongside the Product Team
- Assist teammates with story breakdown and estimation
- Monitor team performance, morale, and client temperature and communicate with Delivery Team
- Look for further engagement opportunities within client businesses and communicate with Revenue Team

Here are the skills that we would love you to bring to the team:
- 5+ yrs of professional, full-stack, software development experience
- Experience leading development projects and or teams
- Strong experience in at least two of the following: Front-end development, back-end development or database design
- Knowledge of common open standards (REST, JSON, AMQP, HTML5, CSS3, OAUTH)
- Intimate knowledge of git, testing frameworks, and IDE’s
- Knowledge of common architectural patterns (DI, MVC, MVVM, OOP, SOA)
- Experience in a cloud-native environment (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with DevOps technologies and processes (CI/CD, Kubernetes, Git, etc.)
- Experience debugging complex software systems
- Hunger for learning new things and stretching your technical abilities
Nice to Haves:
- Experience in a cloud-native environment (AWS, Azure, GCP)
