Custom Software Project Team and Timeline
Viagio takes an integrative approach to projects, involving the development team from Discovery to Launch. We assign five to ten team members on Custom Software projects, including a project manager, UX designer, software architect, software engineer and QA engineer. Throughout the entire process you will have interaction and direct involvement with the engineering team responsible for building your software.
Custom Software projects typically take four to six months to complete and can be approached a few different ways, depending upon the needs and goals of the client. Ideally, we begin new software with an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) phase, allowing us to validate the software concept and quickly receive user feedback. An MVP phase uses resources wisely by testing the product before going through the full development cycle. Larger software builds are broken up into multiple phases in conjunction with client needs. We want to deliver value to your business as quickly as possible while also identifying improvements that can be made before the development cycle is complete. Phased software rollouts get the tool working in your business, bringing an earlier return on your investment.
Custom Software Project Process
Step 1: Discovery
Every project begins in Discovery. Throughout this process we will work together to wireframe, develop user stories, test techical features, and conduct any necessary stakeholder surveys and/or interviews.
Step 2: Design
Details begin to solidify and coming together during the Design phase of your custom software build. Here Viagio can provide a high-fidelity prototype, perfect for collecting feedback from project stakeholder tests.
Step 3: Development
The proverbial rubber hits the road in Development as the foundation of your custom software comes to life. The Viagio team will conduct weekly progress meetings, fine tuning the project as we go.
Step 4: Iteration
The Viagio project team takes your custom software to the limit on multiple devices, through different scenarios, and across a wider audience. We make final adjustments to ensure your goals are met.
Step 5: Launch
Launch begins with a code freeze, then we deploy your product to production and out to the users. Final data conversion happens at this point as well. Viagio closely follows the software for 30 days, resolving any remaining bugs identified by the wider user base.
Once your software is launched, Viagio can either set you up with a support and maintenance plan to keep things running smoothly or move into a continual improvement phase where we loop through our Discovery, Design, Development, Iteration and Launch phases on a smaller scale to always keep your company moving forward with its data.
